Maritzburg United have confirmed they have secured the signature of midfielder, Kurt Lentjies, from SuperSport United on an 18 month deal. This will be the 28-year old's second stint at the club after playing for the Team of Choice from 2010 until 2012.
He later left to join SuperSport but didn't perhaps enjoy as much game time as he would've liked during his time in Pretoria.
Lentjies is expected to add value to Steve Komphela's squad either in a more fundamental central midfield role, or as an attacking midfielder further forward. United have struggled for goals in the current campaign and Lentjies' arrival could be just the boost they need to get back on track.
United's chairman, Farouk Kadodia, expressed his delight at Lentjies' return to Pietermaritzburg. He told the club's official website, "“We know Kurt well from his time here and we know his abilities. After discussions with the head coach, Steve Komphela, we felt that Kurt could add value to us going forward and are delighted to have brought him back to the club.”
