The South African u20 Women’s National Team and Zambia played out to a goalless draw in their U20 Women's World Cup first leg qualifier on Sunday afternoon.
The visitors had the better of the chances in the opening stanza, with Linda Motlhalo going close with a powerful effor but Zambian goalkeeper, Hazel Nali, managed to save.
Gabriela Salgado nearly handed Basetsana the lead just before the halftime break but her long range effort crashed against the crossbar.
The sides went into the break with the score locked at 0-0.
However, the visitors did create the same amount of openings in the second 45 minutes, as they searched for a first-leg lead.
Basetsana goalkeeper, Mapaseka Mpuru, ensured that her side kept a clean sheet, as she kept out Babara Banda's long range effort in the 80th minute.
However, the first leg tie ended all square in Lusaka and the two sides will meet in two weeks time for the second leg in South Africa.
