South Africa’s u17 Women’s National team failed to qualify for the World Cup, after they lost 7-0 on aggregate to Nigeria.
The Nigerians controlled proceedings from the onset and forced Bantwana goalkeeper, Malogadi Maluleke into a couple fine saves in the opening five minutes.
However, the Nigerian's pressure final paid off in the 28th minute, as Rasheedat Ajibade profited from an error from Maluleke to slot into an empty net
Maluleke redeemed herself in the 35th minute, as she rushed off her line to deny Mercy Omokwo a certain goal.
Bantwana were on the back foot for most of the opening 45 minutes and failed to register a single effort on target in the first stanza.
The Nigerians continued to pile on the pressure in search of more goals but Maluleke was once again on hand to deny Yetunde Fajobi midway through the second half.
Bantwana put in a better dispaly in the second stanza, but were unable to bypass a solid Nigerian defence.
