World Cup Plans To Be Revealed For SA Women’s Team
U-17 Women's National Team Bantwana to reveal plans for World Cup preparations
The South African U17 Women’s National Team, Bantwana are currently in camp in preparations for the upcoming 2018 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup starting 13 November 2018.
The South Africans booked their place in the World Cup following an emphatic 6-1 aggregate score over Morocco in February.
The crew can confirm that for their preparations, coach Simphiwe Dludlu has lined up a trip to Spain to prepare the side for the World Cup finals as part of a promise by South African Football Association President, Dr Danny Jordaan.
“We are on the brink of something great with this team,” said Bantwana head coach Dludlu.
“I cannot commend these young ladies enough for what they’ve achieved from themselves, their families and the nation. But this is only the beginning, as the real challenge lies ahead.
“There is a lot of planning and logistics that are going to take place between now and November as all the players are schooling so we have to be careful on the kind of programme we come up with to cater to their schooling and the preparations for the World Cup,” added the former Banyana Banyana international.
In the meantime, SAFA has scheduled a media press briefing for Thursday, where Dludlu and her technical team will outline in detail, Bantwana’s programme for the next six months before the squad jets off to Uruguay for the finals.
