Ivorian centre-back, Soumahoro Bangaly, was stretchered off the field on Tuesday evening, after the player sustained an injury in the Brazilians’ 4-0 win over Baroka FC.
Prior to the encounter, Masandawana announced that Anthony Laffor and Fares Hachi will not feature for Coach Pitso Mosimane’s side due to injury, where they joined Lucky Mohomi, Cuthbert Malajila and Rivaldo Coetzee on the team’s injury list.
Adding to their concerns, Tebogo Langerman and Motjeka Madisha, who are two key players for the Sundowns’ defence, are both currently on three yellow-card bookings, which means that should they receive one more caution, they will be facing a one-match suspension.
Sundowns are currently looking to maintain their position at the top of the Absa Premiership league standings, while also having the advantage of games in hand.
The Brazilians will look to keep up their momentum going despite the injury crisis and possible suspensions, when they face Golden Arrows on Saturday, December 10.
