Golden Arrows are said to be planning for life without one of their key players following genuine interest from Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, the Siya crew has been informed.
Indications are that the KwaZulu-Natal outfit has ruled out any possibilities that forward Ntsako Makhubela will be added to their 2021/22 season roster and are open to offers from the two Soweto giants.
The Siya crew first reported Makhubela’s probable exit back in March, but it was believed then that Mamelodi Sundowns were leading the race for his signature prior to the end of the previous campaign.
According to Siya sources in Gauteng, the player still has one more year left on his contract with Arrows, although it’s understood the club has given him permission to leave the camp – a big indicator that his next move is imminent.
Both Chiefs and Pirates have the player on their radar and are believed to have expressed real interest, hence Arrows have not included Makhubela in their plans for the brand new season.
The campaign gets underway on Saturday with the MTN8 quarterfinals and Arrows will host SuperSport United at the Princess Magogo Stadium at 3pm.
It now remains to be seen who wins the race for Makhubela’s signature between the two Soweto rivals, or whether Downs are still in with a shot of adding the attacker to their galaxy of stars before the window slams shut later this month.
