The Siya crew has caught wind of news that Chippa United defender James Okwuosa has attracted interest from overseas.
The Nigerian player has been a pillar of strength at the heart of the Chilli Boys’ defence, having joined them at the beginning of last season.
He started 16 league games for the club in the previous campaign and his impressive performances has continued to win him admirers, with news surfacing during the recent transfer window that Orlando Pirates were looking to sign him. However, a deal failed to materialise and the 23-year-old is believed to be eyeing a move abroad.
According to a source in the Chilli Boys camp, there will be scouts from a Turkish club watching him in action when the Nigerian national team take on Italy in an international friendly to be hosted in London on Monday.
The source continued, “They were supposed to go and watch him when Nigeria take on Ethiopia this coming weekend, but they decided to cancel the trip and make it for the game in England, as it’s closer to Turkey.”
