University of Pretoria are assessing Thanda Royal Zulu defender Cardyne Dunn as a possible replacement for Siyabonga Ngubane, should they fail in their attempts to sign him on a permanent deal.
Ngubane spent last season on loan with Tuks from Mamelodi Sundowns, going on to impress Steve Barker and his technical team with a string of fine performances, helping them to achieve a top eight finish.
Barker is apparently keen to bring the defender on board on a permanent basis ahead of the new season. However, word reaching the Siya crew is that Sundowns are reluctant to sell him and may look to bring him into their first team next season.
Now, with Ngubane unlikely to be available to Tuks for their 2013/14 campaign, it seems they are eyeing Dunn as the man to replace him in their starting line-up, as they look to further improve in their second season in South Africa’s topflight.
