University of Pretoria have confirmed the signing of Petrus Shitembi. The Namibian international has joined the PSL rookies on a three-year deal.
“It’s an honour for me to play for AmaTuks as I will be able to play football and continue with my studies. I received a warm welcome from the team and looking forward to playing,” Shitembi told the club’s official website.
The 20-year-old played for Rundu Chiefs in the Namibian Premier League before joining Tuks. The talented midfielder has played for the Namibian national teams, from Under-17 level right up the senior side,
He joins countryman Ronald Ketjijere at the Steve Barker-coached outfit, and adds to the increasing number of Namibian players lured to the PSL in recent times.
Namibian national team goalkeeper Virgil Vries has already signed for Maritzburg United, alongside Heinrich Isaacks, while Willem Mwedihanga has joined AmaZulu.
