Tuks Beat Arrows At Home

ABSA Premiership

Result: Amatuks - Golden Arrows

Date: 22 September 2013

Venue: Tuks Stadium

Tuks beat Golden Arrows 2-0 at home today, to get their season back on track, after losing in the mid-week.

Tuks started positively, doing the early pressing, as they looked to take advantage early.

In the 13th minute Geoffrey Massa had a chance to give Tuks the lead, but after he had done all of the hard work getting clear of the defence, his shot was easily stopped by  Siya Mngoma.

Two minutes later Massa got the opener for Tuks, this time a good header from a free kick by Siyabonga Ngubane.

Tuks had another chance in the 22nd minute but Khethu Zwane's shot was deflected out for a corner.

Massa almost took advantage of a defensive blunder in the 24th minute, as Atusaye Nyondo picked up a loose ball and fed him well, but Massa's shot hit the woodwork.

In the 31st minute Philani Shange had a chance to pull one back but his powerful shot on target was blocked by Charly Moussono-Moussono.

In the 39th minute Grant Kekana had an attempt but it was blocked and went out for a corner, and at half-time Tuks led 1-0 but it really should have been by more.

Massa should have made it two right at the start of the second-half, but after running onto a long ball, his shot missed to the right by inches.

In the 53rd minute Welcome Qalanto had a chance for Arrows, as the visitors started to control possession in the second-half, but his shot went well wide.

Two minutes later Shange forced a good finger tip save from the Washington Arubi, who came to the rescue again from the corner that followed.

But as Arrows pressed harder, it was Tuks who would get their second in the 80th minute, Nyondo finishing well with his left foot to make it 2-0.

Dipsy Selolwane had a chance to make it three in the 89th minute but his shot went well wide.
