South African youngster Charlie Tsotetsi is impressing during the Nike Chance tour and managed to grab himself a goal during a 6-0 hammering of Juventus’ youth side on Sunday.
The 20-year-old, who plays as an attacking midfielder, was selected as part of the final 16 in the competition and last month left to begin the Nike Chance tour that will see them visit the USA and Europe.
Nike’s side, which includes a variety of ages and nationalities, have been in good form since beginning their tour last month, and Tsotetsi has had a major role to play in all of their victories.
The Siya crew spoke to ‘Computer’ who told us that he was really enjoying himself. He said, “I’m enjoying each and every moment and I’m learning a lot. I managed to score against Juve and I’ve been creating most of the goals for my teammates. I’m doing it for my country, for my family and for Nike. I just want to make them proud.
“In the three games that I’ve played I’ve been told that I’ve been outstanding. I had a big impact in the matches and even the opposition coaches have been impressed with me, they all said that I was the one who stood out for them. It gives me a lot of confidence to try and push myself to the limit.”
Tsotetsi’s team took on Shivers Academy and the USA national under-17 side in America, winning 4-2 and 4-3 respectively, before their 6-0 win over Juventus’ under-17s.
The aim of The Chance is to help the youngsters earn professional contracts all around the world, and if Tsotetsi continues in the current form that he is in, he may well be lost to the PSL, despite interest from Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.
