Orlando Pirates defender, Tshepo Gumede, has admitted that he’s relieved to finally get some playing time at the club.
Onyango Attracts Downs & Bucs Interest
The former Platinum Stars player struggled to break into the Pirates team since joining in January last year. He told the Siya crew that he is enjoying his game after playing in the last four matches for the club.
“I have been working hard for this time and it is a welcome relief for me as a player,” he said.
“It was not nice that I was not playing and that gave me the chance to fight hard and work hard to be in the team.”
The 24-year-old also admitted that he still needs to work hard to continue enjoying time on the pitch.
“Now I am in the team and I have to continue working hard to keep my place in the team because I know we have good defenders who I am competing with,” the Sowetan-born defender continued.
“But for me it's a relief that I am playing after a long time on the sidelines.”
