With Luvolwethu Mpeta having signed a pre-contract with SuperSport United as confirmed by the club this week, Platinum Stars are expected to lose a few other players from their current squad, including the hardworking Tshepo Gumede.
The central defender recently rejected an offer to extend his contract with Stars, as confirmed by the North West outfit. According to a source close to Dikwena, the 23-year-old is increasingly likely to sign with another club in his search for greener pastures.
“Gumede was offered a new contract at Platinum Stars and he rejected it. The club has since extended the contract of Rofhiwa Tshikovhi and I doubt very much if they will continue persuading Gumede for a new contract,” said the source.
Stars announced last week that the club allowed Mamelodi Sundowns to talk to Gumede about a possible deal. However, the talented player is expected to agree to a move to Orlando Pirates, during the current transfer window, as earlier reported by the Siya crew.
