Chiefs Duo Ruled Out For The Year
Tsepo Masilele & Rama Mphahlele Have Been Ruled Out For Kaizer Chiefs
Two of Kaizer Chiefs' key players have been ruled out for a number of months and are unlikely to play again in 2017.
Chiefs gave an update on several injured players today ahead of this week's clash with Cape Town City, and it appears that Steve Komphela will be dealing with a severely depleted squad going into the next few games.
As well as confirming injuries to 'Rama' and Masilela, the Amakhosi also stated that Khumalo, Hadebe and Letlotlo faced between three weeks and four months still on the sidelines.
The club said in a statement on their website:
Sibusiso Khumalo has injured his knee ligament. Sbu got injured during training and is undergoing treatment. He will be sidelined for three weeks.
Tsepo Masilela underwent surgery to remedy his ankle ligament. Tsepo is expected back for rehabilitation in three months’ time. Tsepo got injured during the 2-1 loss to SuperSport United a fortnight ago.
Teenage Hadebe is in a rehabilitation process. While still in a moon-boot to protect his ankle, Teenage is expected back in full training in eight weeks’ time.
Emmanuel Letlotlo is progressing well after undergoing knee surgery in pre-season. Letlotlo will be monitored through the process of rehabilitation. Letlotlo is expected to return to training after four months.
Ramahlwe Mphalehle returned from Bafana Bafana duty with a knee injury. Rama will undergo surgery on Monday and it’s expected that the full-back will be out of action for approximately to four months.
We wish all players a speedy recovery and look forward to having them all match fit again as soon as possible.
