Chiefs Exit Likely For Long-Serving Defender

Tsepo Masilela Looks To Be Leaving Kaizer Chiefs

By Joe Crann - May 24, 2018 11:29 AM @YesWeCrann

Tsepo Masilela’s six-season stay with Kaizer Chiefs seems likely to be coming to an end, with his agent confirming that they’re already looking at options in case he does move on.

The 33-year-old will see his current contract expire in just a few weeks’ time, and while there have been no confirmations regarding his exit, it is thought that he could be one of the players on his way out.

It was revealed by the Siya crew this week that Keagan Buchanan is currently in talks with the club regarding a potential mutual termination of his contract at Naturena, with numerous players likely to be moving on before the start of next season.

The crew got in contact with Masilela’s agent, Mike Makaab, who commented on the situation by saying, “We don’t know for sure what’s happening with Tsepo, but we do have options in South Africa and have started looking at possible routes in the United States as well.”

Masilela has played around 150 games for the Amakhosi since making the move to Soweto back in 2012, playing a major role as they won two Absa Premiership titles, an MTN8 trophy and the Nedbank Cup.

Chiefs are set to make a decision in the next couple of weeks on who will be returning to pre-season when they report back on June 25th.

@Sifiso Mabizela ... Ha ha haaa hay angikuyeke Mfoka Mabizela you don't listen... nobody said that Micho must be awarded by the PSL Coach of the Season... no Gerald Modabi said that there are only one or two options to chose from for PCS. To me Milotin Sredojevic and Fadlu Davids they worksvery to put Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United kulama-position abaqede kuwona. But angimfeli umona uPitso usebenzile he deserve it.. Musake ukusebenzisa amagama anenhlamba mfowethu such as (UDAKIWE,RUBBISH) kulenkunda yethu asilwi la siyabonisana, sincome, sigxeke ngokwakhayo not inhlamba asiphumi emakhaya afanayo sonke

Tsepo was a good fullback. Only injuries cost him big time, so I think he was going to teach the young stars a very good lesson expecially to that left back

@SeaGate4 I respect your opinion and to me rationality must prevail. Jessica's qualifications are no way near that position. Shabba is and has always performed above the abilities of 30 yr olds. He is good to assist the up and coming youngsters. I do not regard Ekstein as a youngster because he is 27 yrs old and still lacks the basics. I agree with you regarding Masilela, Parker and Maluleka. Those who did not perform when given a chance by Khompela, to me are failures. Regarding the Free State Stars' coach, i hate, detest and loathe his attitude.

Chiefs must buy Eymael for a Coach and then release Masilela, Parker, Katsande, Zulu, Shabalala, Khuzwayo, and Maluleka. The rest of the players are good and Eymael can work with them, produce wonders and even turn them into highly sought-after players. Finally Bobby must be replaced by Jessica. Jali will not add much impetus at Chiefs, if anything Chiefs will destroy him, It is best if he rather goes to Sundowns or back to Pirates, he is a good player but not for Chiefs - just like Steve is a good coach but not for Chiefs. Kaizer Motaung, please Sir, bring us Eymael and replace Bobby. We do not need a Team Manager who interferes with the Coach and player movements. Look and learn from Sundowns. Thank you.

Soldier indeed, one of the best left back the country has ever produced. He served well to the khosi nation just that the injuries killed him and the age against him now I think its better to look for greener pasture to retire . But he served well and well appreciated and good luck !!
