A former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper is among 33 players announced at TS Galaxy FC ahead of their National First Division campaign for the 2018/19 season.
The official unveiling of TS Galaxy's squad, technical team and the team’s playing kit took place at the Kameelrivier Stadium near Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga yesterday (Wednesday).
The team owned by Tim Sukazi, who until recently has been a player’s agent and CEO at Quality Talent Sports, will be in its first season in the NFD following Sukazi’s purchasing of the status of Cape Town All Stars.
As confirmed on the club’s official website, head coach Vusi Mkhatshwa will be assisted by Musi Ajao in his technical team.
Luthando Sixhaso, who has been one of the understudies for Itumeleng Khune at Chiefs in recent seasons, is one of the new players for the side.
“Following more than a month of intense player assessments, Galaxy new coach Vusi Mkhatshwa has assembled a squad brimming with youth and potential, with the likes of Mxolisi Gumede, Sizwe Mdindzo and Sakhele Nhlabathi among the players with NFD experience,” TS Galaxy confirmed on the club’s official website.
“The former Witbank Spurs coach, who is assisted by Musi Ajao, has also drafted into his squad seven players who campaigned for the club in the ABC Motsepe League namely Seun Ndlovu, Sanele Barns, Thabang Setati, Hope Matloa, Siyabonga Khumalo, Macbeth Mahlangu and Tebogo Podile.
“Mkhatshwa will be looking his right back Mfundo Khuzwayo to captain the Mpumalanga outfit to a successful maiden season,” confirmed the club.
Club president Tim Sukazi said, “These players have talent and I have no doubt in my mind that they’re going to take this team very far. I am confident that they’ll make us all proud, all we need to do is to support them.”
