Malesela: I’ve Seen A Very Much Improved Chiefs…

TS Galaxy coach Dan Malesela are aiming to advantage of a wounded Kaizer Chiefs’ ahead of their DStv Premiership encounter on Wednesday.

The Glamour Boys are still nursing the wounds of their 3-0 MTN8 semi-final defeat to cross-town rivals, Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

Unbeaten TS Galaxy will be hoping to take advantage of this and compound Chiefs’ misery by replicating their incredible feat achieved in 2018, when they managed to oust Amakhosi in the Nedbank Cup final.

For Malesela, it is all about getting the players prepared for the clash at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

“Yes, we look forward to our next fixture. I’ve spoken with the players that we are playing Kaizer Chiefs. Let us prepare for that. We will only start on Saturday. We need to rest a bit. We will start on Saturday to prepare for Chiefs and do that continuously and see the match through on Wednesday.

“We need to keep it going. We need to continue collecting points. The longer you stay without losing a match, the more the confidence will build up. I’ve seen a very much improved Kaizer Chiefs compared to how they were against Mamelodi Sundowns the other day. I hope the boys will leave up to what the match will be demanding on the day. Let us see,” Malesela told the media.

Meanwhile attacker Wayde Lakay, who scored the winner for Galaxy against AmaZulu, is a little more upbeat about facing last season’s runners-up and believes his side has what it takes to give Gavin Hunt’s men a run for their money.

“The fact that we are still unbeaten heading into that game against Chiefs, will give us confidence. The boys are working hard at training. As you can see today, it showed. We are not here to add numbers. We are coming here to compete.  That’s what we are here to do,” Lakay explained.
