Former Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu midfielder Ntokozo Sikhakhane and ex-Jomo Cosmos midfielder Felix Badenhorst, are some of the trialists that were turned away from the Moroka Swallows training ground this week.
Another player that was told to stop training after only one session is former Mpumalanga Black Aces, midfielder Vusiwe Masondo.
Swallows coach Zeca Marques explained to the Siya crew the reason why he decided against giving these players and extended run at training.
“They were simply not the kind of players I wanted to sign, so there was no point in keeping them at training even though we were not going to sign them,” Marques told the crew.
“It’s no secret that we’re in the market for a player or two, but we’re operating within a certain budget, so we have to box clever during the transfer period. We know what kind of player or players we’re looking for and we’ll make our signings when the time is right,” added Marques.
Swallows will resume their Absa Premiership campaign with a tough away match against Mpumalanga Black Aces on Wednesday, February 5.
