And Mxolisi Macuphu is also set to join the ambitions KwaZulu-Natal outfit with defender Mzwanele Mahashe potentially going in the oppositive direction to TS Galaxy.
Here are the latest deals as they happen:
Cape Town City
Bafana Bafana striker Fagrie Lakay has joined Egyptian side Pyramids FC.
Lakay has joined Pyramids on a permanent transfer after the two clubs agreed to a deal on Deadline Day.
Swallows FC
The Siya crew contacted Swallows chairman David Mogashoa for the latest regarding Thabo Matlaba and he confirmed the player's departure.
“The player requested a clearance on Saturday and after deliberations it has since been issued. He had six months on his contract, meaning he can sign a pre-contract somewhere else. But we did not want a situation where any player has committed his long term future at another club and we are holding them back. If there’s an opportunity for them to earn more somewhere else, we are open to discussing that. Thabo Matlaba is no longer a Swallows player and we wish him the best of luck," the Dube Birds boss explained.
Sundowns
Sifiso Ngobeni is believed to be on his way to SuperSport United, while the two clubs are working on also getting striker Promise Mkhuma on loan.
Confirmation imminent.
TS Galaxy
The Siya crew have been informed that Marlon Heugh is set to follow his teammates Mokete Mogaila and Mxolisi Machupu to Royal AM. Despite Stellenbosch FC making contact with the player, the 31-year-old opted for a switch to KZN, where he will replace the departed Jackson Mabokgwane.
Tumelo Bodibe has terminated his contract with TS Galaxy four months before it was due to expire in May 2022, with both parties agreeing to mutually terminate the contract. The 28-year-old made just two appearances for the rockets this season and is currently a free agent.
Royal AM
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Mabokgwane could in fact be set to replace Heugh at Galaxy.
He is a free agent after parting ways with Royal AM earlier in January and Galaxy are determined to bring the former Orlando Pirates shot-stopper on board. The Siya crew has reported of Marumo Gallants’ interest in the player and it remains to be seen if Galaxy can land the signature of the experienced goalkeeper.
