Golden Arrows left-back Mzivukile Tom says the two-week break has helped the team improve on their weak areas ahead of their game against Polokwane City on Sunday.
Both teams have had an unconvincing start to the season, with City at the foot of the Absa Premiership table and Abafana Bes’thende lying in 13th place.
The Graaff Reinet-born Tom says it is time that they collect maximum points early in the season to alleviate pressure in the team as the campaign goes on and believes they have to do the business against the PSL newcomers.
He told the Siya crew, “The two-week break has made things easier for us and we have to collect maximum points. If we don’t start winning now, when are we going to do it? A win will boost our confidence going into the next game."
He continued, "We also won’t let complacency creep in because they also desperately need three points. They’re new in the league and you can’t just look down on someone you don’t know. It’s their home game and they’ll come at us. At the end of the day, we have to get three points.”
