Sundowns Comment On Billiat’s Drop In Form
Thulani Thuswa Discusses Khama Billiat's Form
Mamelodi Sundowns spokesperson Thulani Thuswa has backed Khama Billiat to return to his best form after his relatively slow start to the season.
The 2015/16 Player of the Season has yet to find the back of the net in the Absa Premiership so far this season and was unable to score in any of the Brazilians’ CAF Champions League games as they failed to defend their title, but Thuswa has reiterated that the Zimbabwean boast quality and that it was injuries that have hampered his form.
“Khama is a fighter, Khama is a soldier, he’s a very good player,” he told Soccer Laduma. “The unfortunate part is that he has not played in the Champions League much this season. He’s always been injured.”
Thuswa went on to say that, as Billiat plays more regularly, he will be back at his best, before paying homage to the rest of the Sundowns squad, as well as club president, Patrice Motsepe.
“Given time, I think he’ll be the best,” he continued. “I think that going forward, he will get back his form. You cannot blame any player for the loss (against Wyad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League). All of these players are soldiers – even the ones that were sitting in the stands – and we have to appreciate the club president, Patrice Motsepe for his support.”
