Prior to the start of the 2018/19 season, Orlando Pirates made nine signings to strengthen the squad for Head Coach Milutin Sredojevic and his technical team.
The players signed by the club were Brilliant Khuzwayo, Vincent Pule, Ben Motshwari, Meshack Maphangule, Asavela Mbekile, Linda Mntambo, Abel Mabaso, Paseka Mako and Kudakwashe Mahachi.
With the season in progress, some of the players have hit the ground running as they have been getting game-time at the Soweto giants, while others have found the going tough with not making the matchday squads.
So far in the season, Pule, Motshwari, Mntambo and Mako are the players that have been getting regular game-time, while Mahachi and Maphangule have played in dribs and drabs after two and one league substitute appearances respectively for each one of them.
Three of Bucs’ new players this season haven’t yet played in any of the team’s official matches. Khuzwayo, Mabaso and Mbekile are the three players yet to play for the Buccaneers this season.
As confirmed by the club, Khuzwayo has been recovering from an ankle injury, while Mabaso and Mbekile have found the going tough with breaking into the team.
Mabaso played for Bucs’ MultiChoice Diski Challenge team against Mamelodi Sundowns on Monday.
