Chiefs Duo Discuss Amakhosi’s League Chances
Tsepo Masilela and Bernard Parker know what it takes to win the Absa Premiership and it appears they have no quite given up on this season yet.
The duo was both part of the successful Amakhosi unit that picked up the league title in 2012/13 and 2014/15 and know that with four games to go, they are still in with a mathematical chance of doing the same this time around.
Chiefs go into this weekend’s clash with Golden Arrows eight points behind the league leaders, Bidvest Wits and are aware that victory is their only option if they’re going to keep up their already slim chance of success.
Masilela, who has played 13 league games this season, thinks that the defence has to take some responsibility for the fact that they’re not higher up the table.
He told the club’s official website, “We’ve been playing well but (the) lack of concentration has led to us conceding silly goals and dropping crucial points. As defenders, we need to do much more to ensure that we win matches because trophies are ultimately won through solid defence.
Meanwhile, Parker said, “We have been training hard and strategising for the game against Arrows. We need to ensure that we bag all the points and remain in contention for league honours… Winning matches is a team effort and we need all departments to give their best so that the supporters can go home with smiles on their faces.”
Chiefs face Arrows at 20h15 on Saturday night.
