In Argentina and Portugal, Thabo Senong’s side faces two former champions at the U20 World Cup – on more than one occasion – while the Korea Republic are veterans of the tournament as they look to take part for the 15th time.

The Koreans were runners-up in the 2018 AFC U19 Championship last season as they qualified for this year’s edition, and Argentina missed out on the 2019 South American U20 Championship on the last day as they were beaten by Brazil and only finished second.

Portugal, meanwhile, were the champions at the 2018 UEFA European U19 Championship after beating Italy in the final, with the young Portuguese scoring a whopping 17 goals in just five games on their way to victory.

While all three sides are good as a unit, three players do stand out as key players for their sides, all of whom played a major role for their side in qualifying for this World Cup.

Ones To Watch:

Jeon Se-jin - Korea Republic - Suwon Bluewings

The talented attacker bagged five goals in qualifying as Korea finished as runners-up in Indonesia, and despite his age has already played – and scored in – numerous games for his club in the top-flight in his home country.

Joao Filipe – Portugal – Benfica

‘Jota’ may be 19, but he’s flying in the Ledman Liga Pro with Benfica B, has already made his senior Benfica debut, and was the top scorer in qualifying with five goals, bagged two in the final, and was named in the Team of the Tournament as Portugal went all the way in Finland. He’s got eight goals and seven assists in 22 club games this season.

Julian Alvarez – Argentina - River Plate

He only just turned 18-years-old, however, Alvarez already has a Copa Libertadores medal after making his debut in the final, has played in the FIFA Club World Cup with River, and was named in the Team of the Tournament in qualifying. He was at Real Madrid on trial before joining River.
