A total of 10 players will be forced to sit out this weekend’s Absa Premiership encounters due to red and yellow cards received in the last round of games.
All 16 clubs are in action between Friday and Sunday this week as we enter into the business end of the season, with two derbies – in Tshwane and Limpopo – taking place on Saturday.
AmaZulu have both Butholezwe Ncube and Michael Morton suspended as they take on Free State Stars, while Baroka are still without Goodman Mosele for their encounter against Polokwane City in the Limpopo Derby. Their opponents also have a player out, with Sibusiso Mbonani serving a ban for that clash.
Bidvest Wits’ James Keene will serve the first game of his two-game ban against Cape Town City, who in turn have Roland Putsche out following his fourth yellow card of the season.
Chippa United will have to make do without Zitha Macheke when they go head-to-head with Orlando Pirates on Sunday afternoon, with Golden Arrows and Maritzburg United missing Jabulani Shongwe and Lebohang Maboe against Ajax Cape Town and Platinum Stars respectively.
Lastly, in possibly the weekend’s biggest game, Supersport United will miss their top scorer, Aubrey Modiba, in their bid to beat Mamelodi Sundowns in the Tshwane Derby.
