Thembinkosi Lorch’s former coach, Morena Ramoreboli, has opened up about his plans to coach in Mzansi’s top-flight.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic break which led to the Lesotho Football Association (LFA) recently announcing that the 2019/20 season will be cancelled on July 31, Ramoreboli had led the country’s Lioli FC to 5th place on the log with over 10 games still to play.
Having previously also coached at Bloemfontein Celtic, where he served as an assistant coach to Serame Letsoaka, Ramoreboli is keen on another opportunity in the Absa Premiership.
“I have ambitions to coach in the PSL. I got an opportunity at Bloemfontein Celtic but unfortunately when coach Serame left there were a lot of things at the club which were beyond my control. I was looking forward to staying longer at Celtic, unfortunately there were a lot of things and I had to leave,” said Ramoreboli.
Ramoreboli has a proud history of being the coach who led a third tier side in Maluti FET College to an impressive 4-1 win over star-studded Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup in 2013, with reigning Absa Premiership Footballer of the Season Thembinkosi Lorch one of the players at the club at the time.
“I have dreams to be in the Premier League set-up, because as a person I have now realised that there are other qualities that I have which other people lack, and one of those qualities is being able to deal with the inner person in every player. Most coaches don’t understand that you don’t just deal with a player in terms of coaching them every day but you need to go deeper and analyse to see who they are so that you can get the best out of them. I worked with players at Royal Eagles for a few months and those boys are still calling me, because I gave them hope and belief that they can achieve something,” the coach added.
