Thembinkosi Lorch says he won’t put pressure on himself for personal accolades this season.
Lorch has been one of the top performing players for Pirates this season and some pundits predict better things to come for the player.
The 25-year-old has made consecutive starts in eight Absa Premiership matches for Pirates so far this season, and following Bucs’ 0-0 draw with Maritzburg United at the weekend, the Soweto giants’ head coach Milutin Sredojevic lauded the Bafana Bafana international for his contribution to the team.
Asked if winning the Player of the Season is one of the accolades he would like to bag this season, Lorch said he doesn’t want to put himself under pressure as his aim is on contributing to Pirates’ progress rather than winning individual awards.
“I think I’ve started very slow but I’m getting there with my performance but I still believe that there’s still a room to improve. I’m not going to put pressure on myself, I just have to work for the team then Thembinkosi Lorch will come after. I just have to play for the team then we’ll see what happens at the end of the season,” Lorch told the media.
