Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder, Themba Zwane, has expressed delight after he was included in the Bafana Bafana squad for the friendlies against Australia and New Zealand.
Bafana coach, Gordon Igesund, named the squad for their upcoming May friendlies.
“I’m really happy to be given a chance to represent my country. I think if I work hard, my stay in the Bafana team will be a success,” Zwane told the Siya crew.
Aces coach, Clive Barker, has been calling for the midfielder to get a shot after some outstanding performances for AmaZayoni, and Zwane says Barker’s belief in him has motivated him to continue working hard.
“The coach’s calls for me to be included in the squad have motivated me a lot. It’s always nice to hear a legendary coach like him speaking so highly of me and I want to thank him for that,” added Zwane.
Bafana will take on Australia at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney on May 26, at 11:30 SA time, before meeting New Zealand at the Smart Stadium in Auckland on May 30, at 09:30 SA time.
