Free State Stars defender, Themba Shabalala, is hoping to make a quick coming back to help the Bethlehem outfit in the fight against relegation at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old suffered a ligament tear in his leg. The Tembisa-born player told the Siya crew that he is making progress in his recovery.
“I went for a scan last week and they told me that I have a grade one tear. I am on treatment and it’s coming alright. I think I will be out for the game against Tuks and Celtic. I am not sure about the game against Aces because I’m not even training at the moment.
"I am working with the medical team at the moment. Maybe I will be back at training next week. I am hoping to return so that I can contribute to the team in the last few games of the season. It is my wish to help the team to do well. Unfortunately, we don’t choose to pick up injuries.
"I am confident in my teammates. We have a good team. (Sadate Ouro) Akoriko is back. He returned in the game against SuperSport (United). We have Akoriko, Daniel Cardoso, Mbhuyiselo Sambu and (Sorilola) Gege. It can’t be that difficult,” said Shabalala.
The next three games for Ea Lla Koto will be against the University of Pretoria, Bloemfontein Celtic and Mpumalanga Black Aces respectively.
