However it wasn't to be though, with star striker, Lyle Foster, left on the bench by Thabo Senong, the South Africans failed to take their chances in the first half, and then rode their luck in the second 45 as the Koreans got the goal that they needed through Kim Hyun-woo.

The result leaves Senong rock bottom of Group F with one game to go, and they're now relying on Argentina beat Korea and themselves picking up three points when they Portugal later this week, however their -4 goal difference means that even those results going in their favour may still not be enough.
Here's how the group current looks:
1. Argentina - 6 pts, +5
2. Korea - 3 pts, 0
3. Portugal - 3 pts, -1
4. South Africa - 0 pts, -4
