Soweto Derby Date Change, Game Brought Forward

The Soweto Derby Between Chiefs & Pirates Has Been Moved

By Soccer Laduma - Sep 19, 2017 05:55 PM
The first Absa Premiership Soweto Derby of the season has been brought forward by a week next month, with the game no longer taking place on October 28th.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates were due to lock horns for the first time in a competitive game this campaign towards the end of next month, although that encounter will now be played out exactly one week later on October 21st.

Meanwhile, there has also been a time change for the Amakhosi’s clash with Golden Arrows later this week.

A statement on Chiefs’ official website said, "The PSL has announced that the date for the Soweto Derby has been changed from 28 to 21 October 2017 (kick-off at 15:30).

"The tickets for this clash between the Soweto giants at FNB Stadium are not yet on sale.

"Please also be aware that the kick-off time for our league fixture against Golden Arrows at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 23 September 2017, has changed. The match will now start 15 minutes earlier at 20:00."

For whatever reason might be for this chop and change game dates to me it doesn't matter. What matters most is that this time we need a vibrant derby we use to know. We don't need a spoiled shared points game anymore.
