The Reasons Why Billiat Moved To Chiefs…

The Reasons Why Khama Billiat Was Set On A Move To Kaizer Chiefs

By Soccer Laduma - Jun 28, 2018 01:10 PM

Khama Billiat is believed to have had several reasons for opting to make the move to Kaizer Chiefs.

The Zimbabwean international has in the past months, been linked with several suitors, both locally and abroad, this after his era with Masandawana seemed more and more likely that it was nearing an end.

Leading up to the final days prior to the player committing to Chiefs, there were several clubs in discussions with the 27-year-old’s camp, however, the player’s mind seemed to have been made up based on a lot of factors.

Billiat put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Amakhosi last week, with Siya sources revealing why, out of the likes of Orlando Pirates, Egyptian giants Zamalek and several other clubs, he chose Chiefs.

According to the source, Chiefs midfielder, Willard Katsande was part of the reason Billiat warmed up to the possibility of finally heading to Naturena, however, it goes much further than that.

The source revealed that during Billiat’s time with Zimbabwe’s Aces Youth setup, Chiefs were eyeing a move for both Billiat and his countryman, Knowledge Musona.

However, at the time, were only able to secure Musona’s signature, as Billiat headed to CAPS United and then made his breakthrough in the Premier Soccer League by joining up with Ajax Cape Town.

At the time, Chiefs was a household name In Zimbabwe, with the club’s history of signing several Zimbabwean players.

The source revealed that a move to Chiefs was always at the back of Billiat’s mind and despite an illustrious career with Sundowns, the player was set to live out his childhood dream.

Jealous downs fans, please stop it. The guy is man enough to see what's good for him. You're just bitter because you thought talented players will never leave you for chiefs. Now you've become prophets of doom. Billiat will never succeed, who will pass him, who will he play with. Who is he playing with in the zim squad? Who is passing him there. A good player can fit in any team and make something out of nothing.

I'm a sundowns supporter. I know billiat's work. He has done a lot for Downs. He also want to make history in South Africa. Musona made his history for playing chiefs and go overseas. Nyasha made history from Downs to overseas. Even Svesiya played for Chiefs and went overseas. Khama billiat I will always love you. Keep on growing your african profile

@MpyeK - You must be living in a fantasy world. What you say here, in this blog, equates to nothing but utter rubbish. May I remind you that Musona is a Manyame FC product. He was spotted by Haka United FC who offloaded him to Aces Football Academy where he teamed up with Khama Billiat in 2006. In 2008 both players where identified by Muhsin Ertugral (Then Kaizer Chiefs Coach) as possible future addition to the team after he saw their performances whilst playing for the Zim U-19 National Team. Chiefs approached Aces Academy for both players in 2008-2009 Season. However, Billiat was advised against the move since the person who wanted him at Chiefs (Ertugral) was leaving to take over the reigns at Ajax CT for the 2009-2010 season for which he stayed for 6-Months. That is how Khama Billiat ended up in Cape Town. For future references, just do your research before running either your thoughts and/or mouth... Asseblief Mtase!!!

@Juju, take a breath and settle my brother, no need to be emotional. In soccer, you compensate players according to their contribution. Imagine you've a striker who has been scoring less than 10 goals in two or three seasons, and he comes to you demanding to increase his salary three times, with his goal scoring decreasing at rate of 4 per season from. When you you do your closer analysis here, you can obviously see that one party is being ripped here. When a player demands increase, it has to match with his contributions. I also said the same thing with Rama. Rama wanted to rip Downs because if you take a closer analysis, you can say to yourself; do i desperately need, is his unavailable going to affect us? Am I going to find it difficult to replace him?. It was an easiest work to replace him. Billiat has was mostly injured and they brought in other players and do the job. Billiat didn't play much in the champion league, but the team is still playing. So those are my personal analysis to players

Castro and Billiat played their role and gave their best while at Downs, now they decided to retire comfortably at Naturena Old Age with their age mates. Hambani no hla imali bafana, Ubobby ulahlile.

Chiefs should be called Sunchiefs fc as they envy Sundowns and wanna be like the Champions. Well, they still have a lot to learn.
