PSL Issue Statement On MTN8 Pitch In Storm Hit Durban
The PSL Say Moses Mabhida Will Be Ok To Host SuperSport & Cape Town City
The Premier Soccer League have issued a statement reassuring fans heading to Durban for the MTN8 final that there are no problems with the pitch after this week’s storms.
Storm-hit KwaZulu-Natal will host the showpiece event between Cape Town City and SuperSport United this weekend at 19h00, with Moses Mabhida Stadium the venue as the country looks forward to a repeat of last year’s Telkom Knockout final.
There had been some worries for the playing surface after severe flooding in Durban in the last few days, but the PSL insist that things are due to go ahead as planned.
Their statement read as follows:
The Premier Soccer League would like to reassure football supporters that the MTN8 final scheduled for the Moses Mabhida Stadium this coming Saturday, 14 October 2017 is still on.
Following the floods in Durban this week, the PSL has been in constant contact with Moses Mabhida Stadium Management to assess the state of the stadium more importantly the playing surface.
The League is satisfied that the pitch will be in playable conditions and therefore the final will kick-off at 19h00 as scheduled.
Meanwhile, Moses Mabhida Stadium’s Manager, Vusi Mazibuko, said that they are ‘ready’ for the MTN8 final.
Tickets are still available for the game.
