Mark Fish Foundation Helping To Rescue Arcadia

Arcadia Shepherds FC, in association with the Mark Fish Foundation, are set to undertake a massive clean-up of the Caledonian Stadium on Sunday.

The 114-year-old club, where the former Bafana Bafana defender was a junior, has appealed to the general public, social media sites, Arcadians, club supporters and concerned associates to join the activities which start at 08.30am.

Club boss, Lucky Manna, who conveyed the news to Soccer Laduma, is adamant that the venue must be brought back to its original condition.

“We aim to bring the club and facility to a state that will make everyone proud once again,” he said.

“As you well know, during the last seven years, the local council has neglected the facility to such a degree that nothing within the buildings could be used. There’s only one tap, no sanitation (bucket system) nor electricity. We also suffered when the complete facility was vandalized.”

Football games are scheduled for the post-clean period.
