Polokwane City skipper, Thapelo Tshilo, says their game against Free State Stars is a must-win, which means they can’t afford to put a foot wrong.
Rise and Shine have lost all five of their last matches, and subsequently lost their unbeaten home record - a huge test of character for the club and the fans.
Having lost these matches that they were not supposed to lose, 'Chappies' said it’s great to see the spirit not going down.
“Our previous match against AmaZulu was really a hard pill to swallow as we conceded the goal with just 30 seconds before the game could finish, but one thing I learned the most is that we went all the way to redeem ourselves. Yes, we’re placed position 15th on 19 points, one behind Stars who still have to play Orlando Pirates and that means we cannot afford to slip. The focus is nothing else but maximum points, and as the leader I have been telling the boys that this game represent us with a perfect chance of moving away from the position.
“The mood in the camp has been awesome. The players are responding well and having surprised our coach, Boebie Solomons, who celebrated his birthday last weekend, it is clear how much the spirit is at in the camp. I urge our supporters to come in big numbers and help Rise and Shine to return to its winning ways as they have been awesome through this trying moments,” added the former Mamelodi Sundowns defender.
Tshilo also revealed that all the players are ready to play Stars including their leading marksman, Puleng Tlolane and right-back, Tlou Molekwane after serving suspensions.
