Bibo's Back! - Ex-Bucs Midfielder Comes On For Wits...
Thandani Ntshumayelo is still on the long road back to Absa Premiership football, however he was back on pitch on Friday afternoon against Bundesliga side, Werder Bremen.
Last year it was confirmed that ‘Bibo’ had been given permission to play again after he successfully appealed a four-year ban for cocaine use, with the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS) reducing his sentence to two years – which he had already served.
The 29-year-old former Orlando Pirates man has a good relationship with his former coach, Gavin Hunt, with the man in charge at Wits giving the midfielder the chance to get himself back in shape with the club at Sturrock Park.
While Ntshumayelo hasn’t yet earned himself a contract with Wits, Hunt gave him the chance to get back out on the field as he brought him on as a second half substitute in the 2-2 draw with Bremen at Bidvest Stadium on Friday.
Max Kruse grabbed a classy brace for the Germans in their last game before heading back to Europe tomorrow, with Simon Murray and Edson Khumalo scoring for Wits.
It is thought that Ntshumayelo’s situation will be assessed once he is back to peak fitness.
