Forgotten striker, Thamsanqa Gabuza, has been included in the Orlando Pirates’ 20-man squad for Saturday’s Absa Premiership clash against SuperSport United.
It’s not clear at this stage as to who the former Golden Arrows man will replace from the squad that lost 1-0 to Mpumalanga Black Aces this past Wednesday.
Pirates captain, Lucky Lekgwathi, has welcomed Gabuza’s inclusion in the 20 man squad for the United game.
“I am happy that he made the team. I know him from Golden Arrows and I know how difficult it is to play against him,” Lekgwathi told the official Pirates website.
“Whenever we played against him, he gave us problems at the back. He was at some point called to the national team, so I am happy that his hard work here has earned him a place in the team.
“Now he will have to fight harder. I spoke to him this afternoon and he is very happy to be in the team,” added Lekgwathi.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa and defender, Happy Jele, are also likely to return to the team after missing the Aces clash due to suspension.
Winger, Daine Klate, is likely to miss this clash against his former team as he continues to work on his match fitness following a long injury lay-off.
