Amajita head coach Thabo Senong says nothing went wrong in the first leg of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi this past weekend.
Senong attributed Amajita’s draw to a lack of luck in front of goals but remained optimistic that his charges will come back stronger in the second leg to be played in Blantyre this Saturday.
“Nothing went wrong because we didn’t concede any goals and we had moments where we dominated and created chances. Luck was just not on our side to score goals,” said Senong.
“We will just continue giving the players confidence and working on creating chances in the game. We need to uplift the confidence of the players because we are good defensively, however, we need to score goals.
“We always score away and defend well when we play away so I have no doubt we will do well in Malawi,” he concluded.
Amajita are scheduled to leave for Malawi on Wednesday with the side expected to return on Sunday.
