Orlando Pirates’ new crowd favourite, Thabo “Jomo” Rakhale has expressed enthusiasm ahead of Bucs' league game against Polokwane City on Saturday, February 28, at the Orlando Stadium.
The 24-year-old gifted midfielder known for his flamboyant style of play which has earned him the nickname Jomo, spent a season on loan at Rise and Shine and, now the prospect of facing his former teammates has the Bucs midfielder thrilled.
“It’s always exciting to face your former team. I formed a bond and know the guys quite well so to find ourselves on opposite ends will be special,” he tells the Pirates website.
“The approach to City will be like any other match, I expect a tough challenge from them. They are just behind us on the log and their league form is very good. I am sure they will look to advance at our expense but our goal is to collect three points for every match we play until the end of the season.”
Based on his season-long stay at the Limpopo outfit, Jomo shared his thoughts on how he believes City who have enjoyed good form in the league will approach Saturday’s encounter.
“I know from personal experience that the guys will attack with their creative and skilful players, they enjoy coming at the defence. Even though the coach has changed since my days, the philosophy is still there. The core of their team is very good and that is something we have to watch out for,” added the Bucs midfield man.
The match is scheduled to start at 18h00.
