Orlando Pirates' exciting winger, Thabo Qalinge has enjoyed playing against Polokwane City, and the diminutive midfielder will look to continue his fine goal-scoring form against the visitors from Limpopo in Saturday’s league encounter at Orlando Stadium.
"Section 10" has scored twice in the previous meetings against Rise and Shine, firstly in the Telkom Knockout last 16 round played last year in October and, in a league encounter played in August where the Buccaneers emerged as 3-0 victors.
“They like attacking football so we should hopefully see an entertaining and open game,” he told the Bucs official website.
“The goal for us is always the same, win every match we play and collect the necessary points along the way.”
“The confidence is high; all the guys are eager to play. When you see your teammates doing well, you are also inspired to better yourself so the spirit remains on a constant high,” he adds.
Qalinge's progress in Eric Tinkler’s squad has been hampered by injuries, which have hindered the 23-year-old from cementing a regular berth in the team, however he remains optimistic having come back from injury.
“My first match was against Platinum Stars and I was surprised that I was able to play for more than 60 minutes. I had not played competitive football since the injury against Ajax Cape Town in the Telkom Knockout Cup so I was struggling with my fitness, but I pushed myself and refused to give up which is a good thing.”
“I always want to do well for myself and the team, and to score goals where possible and against whoever I play, not just Polokwane City,” concluded the Bucs wide man.
The match is scheduled to commence at 18h00.
