Former Orlando Pirates midfielder, Thabo Mngomeni, says the Buccaneers will win tonight against rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns.
The arch rivals will clash in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, the dreadlocked former Bucs skipper said it’s a tough for the players.
Speaking to the crew, Mngomeni said both sides will go to this one motivated by the cup and there’s a lot at stake.
“I think it’s going to be a tough game for both teams considering their rivalry. I’m worried about my team, Pirates as they’re blowing hot and cold. I think their inconsistency will work against them but it all depends on the motivation on the day. I believe they can rise to the occasion hence they know this is a cup game. They just have to go all out and take their chances. I understand they have a new coach and they’re perhaps struggling due to adjusting to his style.
“Well, my feeling is that Pirates will win this one and progress to the next round of the cup. On the other hand, Sundowns is motivated by the fact that they’ve won midweek and Pirates lost to SuperSport United last weekend. They can win if they work as a unit and forget their loss but Sundowns will be motivated. The supporters can’t wait for this one and I hope the players will deliver good football,” said the former Umtata Bush Bucks player.
The game gets underway tonight at 20:15.
