Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Teko Modise, has indicated that the PSL is very competitive this season and that his side will have to continue to dig deep.
Downs snatched a 3-2 victory in the dying minutes of their clash with Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday night thanks to an injury-time strike from Anthony Laffor.
After five league games the Brazilians are still hovering in mid-table, along with the likes of other big-guns, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, and Modise has indicated that this season is proving to be a tough one.
“Look it is interesting to see that all the teams have started the season on a high note. Meaning there is no team that is giving away points easily. This makes the league very competitive. So far we have been trying to get good results but we have to dig deeper.”
“We are seventh and want to improve our standings. On the previous match we got three points from a stubborn Ajax Cape Town team. They were confident after winning the MTN 8 and made it difficult for us to win.”
“But these types of things encourage us as players because we know we have challenges that we have to overcome. Football has never been this interesting,” Modise said on his official website.
Downs’ next league match sees them travel to the Makhulong Stadium to take on Jomo Cosmos on Sunday with proceedings scheduled to get underway at 15h00.
