When it was announced that coach Gordon Igesund had called up Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Teko Modise to the national squad to be part of their Down Under tour of Australasia, many fans were pleased as he had a fantastic season with the Brazilians.
Igesund even explained the reasons why he had thought of him by making mention of his form in the second half of the season being one of the reasons he had 'The Navigator' in mind.
He was originally called to replace the injured Andile Jali, but later withdrew due to plans made prior to Friday.
'Google Earth' took to his official website to make an apology, expressing his feeling by saying: “I am very sorry not to have been available to play for the team in the upcoming tour to Australia and New Zealand."
“I have and will always be very proud to play for my country. It is an honour I cherish, but unfortunately this time I will not be able to make it. I wish the best of luck to the team going there. ”
