Modise: Character Will Win Us The Game

Mamelodi Sundowns midfield kingpin, Teko “The General” Modise, has guaranteed the club's fans that they have moved on from the loss against Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup, and are fully focused on the game against Mpumalanga Black Aces at Loftus Stadium tonight.

“Aces are a very strong team and they are a side that is capable of beating any team in the league. But for us it serves as one of the four cup finals we have to play,” Modise said on his official website.

He also reiterated the fact that being resilient and showing character will be needed if they want to see Aces off.

“I think our character will win us the game. Obviously there is a lot of pressure, so we have to step up our game in order to come out victorious. Our Nedbank Cup loss will not affect how we approach the remaining fixtures. We lost to a good team and we did our best, so that should not dampen our confidence. We have a lot to play for and we all acknowledge that," he said.

He further underlined the importance of winning at home even though Sundowns have picked up a lot of points away from home.

“We have collected most points away from home but that does not mean we cannot do so at home. Like I have mentioned, things are a lot different for us now, we know the importance of winning the remaining matches. Against Black Aces the plan will be to go all out on the pitch. We must by all means give off all the effort we have to secure the desired results. Everyone is ready to play and help the team achieve its goals”, He further said.

The game will commence at 19:30 tonight.
