Former Kaizer Chiefs captain, Tefu Mashamaite, has sent a special message to Chiefs fans thanking them for their support and the memories created over the four seasons he spent at the club.
The 30-year-old recently completed a move to Swedish outfit BK Hacken after he decided not to renew his contract with the Amakhosi at the end of last season.
The defender sent out a special message to the Amakhosi faithful on Chiefs’ official twitter account as he prepares to begin his new life in Sweden.
“To the fans, I just want to say thank you for their support, what they have done for me for the past 4 seasons has been amazing.”
“Me personally I just want to thank them. I know sometimes in life we come together and part ways, we have very different destinations in life. I wanna say thank you for the contribution, I hope they continue to follow my career wherever I am. I don’t think our relationship should cease because now I’m gonna be playing elsewhere, it should just be about the love of football and the bond that we built previously,” the defender said.
Mashamaite came close to sealing a deal with MLS club New York City, however due to foreign player rules the deal wasn’t able to go through and he ended up signing a two and a half year deal with Hacken.
