Amakhosi Sweat On Star Ahead Of CAF Decider
Teenage Hadebe Is A Doubt For Kaizer Chiefs' Last Game
Kaizer Chiefs are thought to be sweating on the fitness of one of their key players ahead of this weekend’s crunch clash with Ajax Cape Town.
The Amakhosi need to pick up three points against the Urban Warriors in order to secure their spot in the next edition of the CAF Confederation Cup, with Maritzburg United currently breathing down their necks as they prepare to face Golden Arrows.
Teenage Hadebe missed a big chunk of the season following his move from Chicken Inn last year but went on to play 13 Absa Premiership games for the club as he managed to solidify his place in Steve Komphela’s starting XI.
However, the 22-year-old has missed Chiefs’ last four games due to an ankle injury that he sustained in the 3-0 defeat to Chippa United, and is now in a race against time to try and recover in time for this weekend’s crucial encounter in the Mother City.
It remains to be seen if the Zimbabwean will be named in Patrick Mabedi’s squad for the fixture on May 12th, although it does seem unlikely that he will break up the pairing of Daniel Cardoso and Siyabonga Ngezana that served them so well against the Team of Choice.
