Former Chippa Coach In New Role
Technical Team Changes At Royal Eagles
Former Chippa United coach has surfaced at a struggling National First Division team.
Following a string of unsatisfactory results by Royal Eagles, technical team changes have taken place at the club.
Kostandin Papic, who was the team’s head coach, has been relieved of his duties. The former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs coach is being followed to the KwaZulu-Natal club’s exit by the countryman, Vladislav Heric.
The new man to take charge of the big-spending club is Roger Sikhakhane. The Siya crew reported last year already that the former Chippa coach had been earmarked for a coaching role at Eagles.
“Eagles’ general manager, James Dlamini, confirmed the coaching changes taking place at the club.
“Roger is the team’s new head coach. He started training the team yesterday (Wednesday). He doesn’t have anyone assisting him for now because we have allowed him to look for a coach he will be comfortable working with. The choice is his,” said Dlamini.
The experienced football administrator confirmed the Serbian coaches’ exit from the club.
“They are no longer with the team,” concluded Dlamini.
Sikhakhane’s immediate task will be to save the club from relegation. Eagles are 14th on the NFD log with only four wins from 20 matches.
