Monyai: It’s A Tough One

University of Pretoria travel to Durban to honour their date against AmaZulu this afternoon.

This fixture comes at the back of their 1-0 loss to free State Stars on Wednesday night at the Charles Mopeli Stadium. However, captain,Tebogo Monyai, revealed that a win against Usuthu is a must.

The captain further revealed that they played an ugly game of football against Ea Lla Koto, and expected that considering their positioning on the table.

“It was unfortunate for us against Stars as we could not get a draw or a win, but it’s our turn to look at AmaZulu. Our aim is to start building up for the top eight now, we need to collect three points and escape this relegation zone. We need to be safe as quickly as possible. It’s one of the toughest games against AmaZulu. They’ve lost to Platinum Stars and will try by all means to bounce back.

“It will be very crucial not to concede against them, and we know the longer the game goes, we stand a chance to win. We expect them to attack from the start but we are prepared for that. The quicker we win one match, we’ll move to 34 points and we’ll move away from the relegation worries. In football, you’ll never know what will happen. Athough Moroka Swallows and Maritzburg United are behind us, we need to consolidate our worries. The more we do it ourselves, the more relieved we’ll become,” added Monyai.

This encounter gets underway at Moses Mabhida Stadium from 15:00.
