The Soweto side is yet to win on the road this season, with just a point from the two away matches played so far.
“Obviously, we’re coming back from a loss against AmaZulu, in a game which I believe we should have at least drawn. I have no doubts that the boys will perform well in the match against SuperSport,” Swallows coach Zeca Marques told the Siya crew.
“We’re playing away from home, but there’s no reason for us not to try and win this game, but we’ll take a draw as well because this is an away match.
"But we know that this is going to be a tough encounter, but the nice thing is that SuperSport also know that it’s going to be a tough encounter. We’re not going to be a walk in the park anymore,” added Marques.
In head-to-head stats, SuperSport and Swallows have met in 45 league matches since 1990.
Matsatsantsa a Pitori have 18 wins compared to 13 for the Birds, while 14 matches have been drawn. The Soweto side has not won a league game in this rivalry since the 2005/06 season.
SuperSport have won nine of the 22 home matches they have played against Swallows, suffering five defeats in the process.
Last season United took four points off the Birds, winning 3-1 in Soweto before a 0-0 draw in the return game in Tshwane.
