Swallows FC have confirmed that an experienced defender who was with the team last season is no longer on their books.
Former Bidvest Wits and Kaizer Chiefs defender Keegan Ritchie has left the club after spending just one season with the Dube Birds.
It was a difficult campaign for Ritchie at Swallows, who saw little game-time at the club. Competition at left back had been tough, with Sifiso Hlanti and Thabo Matlaba as options for head coach Brandon Truter in that position.
Hlanti has since left for Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs, but the Dube Birds are in talks with Amakhosi over a possible loan deal for Yagan Sasman, as has been reported by the Siya crew.
“Keegan is not with the club. His contract came to an end, so he is no longer with the team. He had a one-year contract with us which ended,” team manager Elasto Kapowezha confirmed to the Siya crew.
The 31-year-old made just four appearances in all competitions for the Dube Birds, contributing with one assist.
Swallows, meanwhile, confirmed that they have handed experienced midfielder Musa Nyatama a new deal.
